Back in the olden days, people were not much concerned about the weight of the luggage that they needed to carry along during their trips. They focused more on the looks and durability. Most of the bags used were made out of sturdy leather with classic on them. Traveling in the 21st century has changed dramatically. Gone were the days of having to hurdle hours and hours riding a train or days and days of traveling in a ship. Now, air travel has dominated the world through cutting the traveling time into half. Together with air travel's development is the rising of light weight luggage.

What is light weight luggage? It is a luggage made out of light weight material that weighs around 9-10 lbs. Even though leather is still used as a material in making bags and luggage due to its good appearance and ability to withstand damage, weight will always be an issue. For the simple reason that leather is a heavy material and add up weight to the whole luggage itself. In order to get the perfect light weight luggage be sure it's made out of nylon and it has honey comb frames on it. There are a variety of designs to choose from.

When it comes to material, stay away with leather typed luggage. Choose those made out of nylon. Consider the means of transporting the luggage. There are different ways of transporting the luggage. The preference is all up to you. You might like those with top or side handles, back pack straps, slip back or built-in wheels. It all depends on which you find comfortable and more convenient for you to choose.

Of course, it is a good thing to carry luggage that looks good and in style. You can go for a tote, a trolley, suit case or a duffel bag. If you are going to a weekend getaway, a duffel bag is a good option. For a one-week holiday vacation, carrying a wheeled trolley is highly advisable. To add a little bit of glamor and value, getting designer's bags is a plus. There are high end bags available on the market; you can get either a Gucci or a Louis Vuitton. However, you can still go for the less expensive ones such as JanSport, Traveler's Choice, or eBags.

If you love traveling and you do it once or twice a week, then you need to get sturdy luggage that will last longer. However, if you just travel once or twice a year buying different sorts of bags will be a good idea. Choose those bags made of not so sturdy fabrics, it can save you money. One last thing, you need to read the tags. A bag might be made out of 500 denier Polyester while the other one is made out of 800 denier Cordura. Both bags might look the same but they differ much on the quality. The more expensive the fabric is, the longer it can last wear and tear. - 31901
